Bassin87 Unfortunately I lost the rights to hunting those grounds, so back to square one. My buddy got some good pics off his property that he lets me tag along on. Passed up a 7 pointer this morning at 5-10 yards out there

Trolln4Fish Any run ins with any of the hit list yet? I haven't seen any from ours. In fact, I haven't even seen any spikes yet, just a lot of doe and fawns.

Bassin87 Agreed. #3 on the list is another interesting target out there. Got the shed and woulda smoked him last year if not for the other guy scaring all the deer away. That's hunting...expect the unexpected

Outdoormans84 Yea, lets make a plan and do a recon mission, there is more then him I'm wanting to see also. Lots of potential out there for us.

Bassin87 I'm gonna go glass those fields one evening next week if you wanna join me bud. It's so wide open out there I think that doing that would give us a lot more info than running the cams, but we could bring and set those on the entry trails too if u want

Outdoormans84 Yea man I can't wait to get a visual of that big boy again I saw him more then once last year and I was very impressed cant wait to see how he has grown after another year, hope one of us can put him on the ground this year!!!

Bassin87 Yea buddy, some awesome looking deer there! And I definitely hate it too when work gets in the way of my hunting! Won't be long now, three weeks and counting!! Nothing but shoot, shoot, shoot for the next three weeks for me. And if I'm fortunate enough to get that guy on the ground you best believe I'll be putting the pics up on here for all to see, grinning from ear to ear! Thanks for the encouragement, I wish you the best of luck in your pursuits as well

Trolln4Fish I would have that one on my hit list too! Not only good mass, but he's mature to boot. Hopefully the next pic you post of that one will have you in it!!

Trolln4Fish Our hit list for this year is shaping up nicely. I'm hoping I'll have more time in the stand this year than last which was seriously diminished by having to actually go to work... I hate it when that happens!

But seriously, we've patiently passed on a few of these guys waiting for them to mature, and we now have several mature bucks that we've seen year after year that are now in their prime. Just a few more weeks until we start working the hit list and I CANNOT wait!!

Re: 2013-14 hit list

Congrats on your success this last year Yak Man. You had a gameplan, and executed nearly flawlessly it sounds like. I'm still relatively new to deer hunting. 2013-14 will mark my fifth season hunting deer. Last year I had a couple deer that I was thinking, man it would sure be nice if that buck is still around. This year will be different, I'm a year wiser and more prepared. Last year I was merely hunting to see deer, this year will be the first that I target specific bucks only. After not sealing the deal on a brute last year, I only intend on working harder this year to achieve my goal. Also, agree 100% with the fact that having a history with that deer makes it more rewarding to harvest. To be able to say, ive been chasing this one for three years and i got him! I have an 8 pt basket nearly identical to #3 on my list, just a mini version. It was my first buck with a bow and #3 is definitely in that ones gene pool. Also, have to apologize for a typo in the last post. #3 was a respectable 9 pointer last year, sorry for the confusion, honest mistake. I just noticed. He was 5x4 not 5x3 if u were looking at the shed pic and saying wtf? an 8 with 5 on one side?
Yak post pics of your bucks if you are able and have time. Would love to see them
