bigbasser last August was unbelievable for walleyes for some reason, and big ones to kick also....there were a few days where i was catching 10-12 walleyes per far this year not so much i have caught 4 smaller eyes in 5 outings....bass have been scarce also...catfish are biting all over the river....water is low but dirty and stained, hardly any visibility for some reason

JB Nice results there Cotto. I wonder if the cooler temps helped out. I'm with you August is usually the month I steer clear of the kank.

I usually don't fish the river much during the summer months but I got the itch today. I didn't do too bad. I got about 15 smallies. Size was so-so with a couple nice ones mixed in. Most fish were in 12-14 inch range but got two around 17 Inches. I moved a lot and fish did as well. I would get a few in each spot then they would quit. Started at 9am and fished until around 2pm. Got most on yellow and black rattle trap and a few on jig and minnow. I tried shad raps, Flukes, top waters with no luck. Water is very low and on the stained side. Not much in the way of weeds at all.
