Eyespy I remember you losing your wallet now that you mention it. I also remember your crew was a great group of guys to fish with. Docks are starting to go in the water as I speak so it won't be long and the boat will be floating.

FishinMatt That was a trip that showed me what great people there are on CLF. The idiot that I am lost my wallet on the first day of the trip. The guys spotted me several hundred bucks to cover my end of the trip, no questions asked.

fishead Hey I remember that trip and the picture , good times.

Eyespy The majority of the fish are still out in the deeper water north of the reefs right now which is a good 5-6 mile boat ride. The fish will start to move closer to shore within a couple of weeks. If you have never been to Erie, it might be a wiser choice to wait until the water warms up and the weather becomes more stable to make your first trip in a small boat.

Polish Joe Pete I've heard early in the season. I.E. Right now. Is a good time to fish it with smaller watercraft. The fish are still close to river inlets and many of the inshore reefs to spawn. There isn't a whole lot of bays on the western basin, but there's a few. It's always a good idea to plan a couple day trip to catch a break weather wise.

Eyespy I have not been on this site in a long time (had to re-register) and just happened to find this post when surfing the site. I am still running trips on Erie.

Re: lake erie walleyes

Once upon a time there was a CLF Erie trip. Good times.

We went out with EyeSpy Charters. No idea if he is still around. Casted both mornings then trolled to fill out our limits.
