ja-knee-sea HOLY TOLEDO, MARK...

You are not an attractive man...

Choupiquer Joe, if we weren't fishing that stoopid tournament, I would have been happy with a jig pole in my hand all day long. We kept marking 20' tall tree trunks standing in 30' to 40' of water with big pods of crappie hanging around at various depths.

2sac, this place was created for you and your bass fishing addiction.

Polish Joe That place is on my list. I've heard the crappie and catfish action is top notch as well.

2sac What? No double digit bass? I hear that place is loaded with 10 pounders.

Toledo Bend Reservoir

Did the annual 12 boat Geaux Fish Invitational this past weekend at Toledo Bend and had a blast with great weather and fishing. We were two days before a cold front with light 5-10 mph wind and mostly overcast skies. There were 12 boats with three guys on each team. Lots of spotted bass and largemouth were caught.

Check me out with this 4lb 8oz beauty!

This is Daniel with our big bass for the two days. 7lb 4oz.

Heres another that made up part of our 5 fish bag. 6lb 2oz

This one was a stout 5lb 8oz We lost two magnums on jumps, one at the net, so our last of the 5 fish bag went only 2lb 14oz

This is the winning bag. 7lb 14oz, 7lb 2oz, 6lb 6oz, 5lb 0oz, 3lb 14oz These guys beat us 30lb 4oz to 26lb 6oz. They also lost another giant at the net. Sucks to be crushed by a 6lb average when you got a 5lb average.

The winners caught all of their fish on big swim baits and brush hogs on a single shallow water point near deep water.

All of our fish came from a number of spots featuring a point but all were in 10 to 16 feet of water. All came on a whacky worm rigged with a finish nail in the front and red garlic dip on the tail.

Here is a collective mess of 14 to 16" mostly Kentucky bass. The place is loaded with them and it is encouraged to take an 8 fish limit of these guys when possible.

we ended up doing just that as our two day total for caught bass was 72 fish. All of the big ones and many of the others were released for next time.
