Marvelure

I had one given to me by a neighbor for Christmas! The owner of the company was his wifeís uncle. If it will let me, Iíll post some pics of the lure and the packaging. It was Chicago Tool & Stamping Co., 1331 Belmont Ave., Chicago 13 Ill. I cannot figure out how to post pics?

ja-knee-sea Send a picture to the appraiser in BASSMASTER magazine... He's an ace with this stuff... I would fish the **** thing with a pork chunk or mister twister double tail like a Johnson silver minnow...

OZ I could only find a cached image of an older/newer marvelure. Note the wording rustless and Made in USA on the lure. It also looks like it is nickleplated.

My next suggestion is to see if your local library has any books on antique lures.

JDSPINNERS Well Zonk, we'll make you a partner too!!! See we need investors because Vice President/CEO Blu has us over budget with ink and scent costs.

I have a real urge to try it. This thing may have caught alot of fish in its day, The fish swimming today have probably never seen one before. Maybe it would fool a few.

Zonker The lure OZ relates to states "Nickel Plated"...

jd, your lure is stamped "STAINLESS"...

It may be more valuable as being one of the last examples of this obviously superior lure... No wonder I can't catch anything!!!

JDSPINNERS Must be somewhat of a collectors piece. I remember going to Canada years ago and they were using a lure similar to this (silver spoon) with pork on the back in the weeds for northerns. I think I'm gonna have to give it a try someday.

Or maybe I shouldn't take the chance of loosing it.

blufloyd OK scented packaging to tip the lure with thus the packages get extremely rare and the million or so in the stornloc get valuable, we retire and fish with minnows.
