pikechaser Thank you to everyone who offered me help. I had a great weekend and caught lots of fish including a very nice muskie on artificial. Also caught smallmouth bass,walleye,largemouth bass,and other fish. I released all the fish with the exception of the walleye since it was a keeper and less than a quarter of an inch from being 23 inches long. The walleye tasted good but I have eaten much better tasting fish that I have caught before. Now is a good time to go fishing and I recommend you fish the rivers when you get a chance.

pikechaser Thank you for responding. I did some research on YouTube and found some good places to catch northern pike along other species of fish.

2sac There are an abundance of pike in Northern IL and Southern WI lakes. You'll need a boat to access most of them

Pike fishing in the Chicago area

Hello everyone, I am looking to catch my first northern pike in the Chicago area or close. I am willing to drive 90 minutes from Chicago if needed.I will appreciate any tips or locations I can go to catch my first northern pike of any size.
