No school today, so we took off for braidwood. Some action with the panfish, but we decided to try the Kankakee. Fished Wilmington, down current of the rail road bridge, with live bait and no avail. A buddy switched over to a spinnerbait and nailed a fat smallmouth (2.5 to 3lbs). I switched over to a beetlespin and picked up a decent largemouth within 15 minutes. Unfortunately we had to leave, but today was a beautiful day none the less. The river is up but it is not very dirty. Oh yeah, today was the first time we targeted bass as opposed to just drifting live bait under a bobber. I think I fell in love today.
