Real time depth at lasalle is about 19.5 ft right now. Corp of engineers projection is for it to be a little below 17 ft 4 days from now. I always use the rocks at starved rock launch as a guide. at 14 ft they are under water and if they are I dont bother going cause current is still a little fast for whites, at least where I fish them. However if the vermillion is running clear thats a good option. I normally go when the Lasalle depth is 13 or 13.5. If you go to the Chicago National Weather Service Home Page and click on Rivers you will get the river AHPS page and click on the lasalle dot and you will get real time data, saved me some wasted drives last year. Leaving for a week for erie next saturday so hoping river will be prime when I return on the 27th. When the river hits 20 ft(Flood stage) its normally 10 days to 2 weeks till if fishable again and it was over 20 thursday.
