This is an interesting point. To kill a deer is one thing, but to kill another human is a whole other thing.
That is an interesting point, but look at it this way. If the USA was invaded by a foreign country and I had to choose between pulling the trigger on another human being or have them pull it on me or worse on my family, I would pull it multiple times.
Actually it's similar to if some one invaded your house with a firearm, would you have a problem pulling the trigger then? I was taught by the U.S. Army to pull the trigger when the time comes that I need to and if my life or the life of another American depended on it, I wouldn't flinch.

Ever wonder why an Iraqi or Afghani shoots back? Now you know.

Tell me you wouldn't do the same no matter what country you live in.This post makes me sick.Obviously nobody will ever invade the U.S. in your lifetime which makes this irrelevant.I'm disgusted at the fact that you will take killing a human being so easily. Not to piss on your parade...but what is the problem with all those American troops coming back with PTSD? If they're defending our homeland as easily as you say, what's the deal? Have you ever considered the men and woman that are being sent back to "kill" people regardless of what their mental status is?

I will grant you that, BoBB. I don't want to go into a huge thing about it, but I have become very disillusioned with our ongoing ventures and the philosophy behind them. But that is another story entirely.

We have not been invaded, and likely will not, but our 2nd Amendment is no small player in that (combined with large expanses of ocean on both sides). I could throw in an old quote about the 2nd Am protecting all the rest... but that goes without saying, I think.

I do respect what you guy's are saying.I'm just playing devil's advocate. To be honest,I'd much prefer to live in another state, much less another country.

I applied for a transfer to another state about 6 months ago that didn't take.I just wanted to get away for personal reasons. Now,I want to get away because this state is going downhill so fast it's disgusting.Sorry to sidetrack.

not at all, many of us are looking for the door. I spent 20 yrs building a career in steelwork, and the jobs that are still here only go to a certain group of people who literally make half of what the job is worth. Meanwhile, we have a new state DREAM act, 'civil unions', and a raft of casinos in the pipeline. I never thought this state would make Oregon look sane and normal. The sidetrack may not be closely related to the original post, but they are not totally disconnected. The state's leadership has decided that gun owners are inherently criminal and must be tracked, taxed, and hounded. I'm sure some of the hunters have strong opinions about that too.

And the whole thing is touchy, thanks all for keeping it civil.

Like one mod's,. theory.
"Don't let the door hit you on the way out."

Don't be so thin skinned. :)24

I can't understand how a simple tactic like allowing gambling be a factor in decision of one's mind to THINK that the State is going DOWN-HILL?

They should have allowed a casino in Chicago many, many years ago. One for the North side, downtown & the South side. Let the people pi$$ away their money as they see fit. Why travel to Aurora, Elgin, Indiana???? Keep the revenue in Chicago.

We all have a decision in what we do. Me? I don't gamble, never been to a casino, my choice. Spend about 5 bucks a month in lottery tickets is the extent of my gambling. Again my choice.

But I do pick my nose & roll my buggers in a neat little ball & flick 'em on to people. It's fun.

Drove to Missouri (10hrs.) to go pick Morel mushrooms. Now is that nuts? My choice.

People can't seem to grasp the idea of me spending $ 180.00 for a box of cigars.

Put a heater in my garage to be able to smoke a cigar when it's cold out.

So bottom line is, we are all unique in this world. :)34
