Last year snapped my steering cables by leaving my trolling motor down and dummy me took off at full throttle. Is there any trolling motor repair guys out there ? Reply or PM ME and we'll work out a deal.
Lucky me, my minnkota deployed when under way. Wasnt pleasant to see. Seen Bill from J&M marine, and with the quick help of a buddy (thanks again ken for the introduction and help), got it off real quick and handed it off. It was ready in 3 days. Smokin job and reasonable.
He's a minnkota guy though. And hearing about the cable, it might not be. Still worth a call to bill. If he cant fix, I am sure he can point you in the right direction.
Bill fixed my MotorGuide a number of times (3x one year) and complained about how they treated him the whole time, but did good work. Went MinnKota and haven't had to see him since, but he can do basic MotorGuide stuff still, he's just not a certified repair center anymore. He's inexpensive but only takes cash.
