Im sure many have seen the "Take Me Fishing" TV commercials. http://www.takemefishing.org/
This is a group funded by the US Fish and Wildlife Service whos main goal is to increase the amount of people buying fishing licenses. Especially now as the F&W service has released a survey showing the participation in fishing has really dropped. They have another part of their org. called anglers legacy where outdoor groups can become partners with them. Pretty much just promoting their organizations thru club newsletters and shows. http://www.anglerslegacy.com/

After some miscommunication with a new employee of theirs, we [the Bowfishing Assoc of Illinois] are now a partner group. ALSO, we have been invited to take part in their very large "Take Me Fishing Center" at the very popular Chicago Boat RV and Outdoor Show held this Jan. at McCormick Place in downtown Chicago. We will set up an informational booth and promote local bowfishing and give out free BAI memberships right along side the bass, walleye and great lakes fishing clubs. It will be seen by tens of thousands of people over the week run of the show including lots of Chicago media. We feel this will be a great thing for bowfishing in Illinois, once again putting the great sport of bowfishing right up front in a major outdoor show. Ill post lots of pics from the show.....check their site here.... http://www.chicagoboatshow.com/

BTW.....we will need some people for the booth :)

Had a long talk with the pres. of "Take Me Fishing" today. He gave me full assurances that they as well as the US Fish and Wildlife service people are 100% behind bowfishing and look forward to working with us to get more people into the outdoor sports as a whole. Be it C&R Fishing, Bowfishing, Catch and Keep fishing, bowhunting, crossbow hunting, gun hunting....everything, they and the US Fish and Wildlife Service are for 100% inclusion in their programs to increase participation in the outdoor sports. Great way to think
