New to the area, was wondering where is "the Toilet Bowl" that has been mentioned in a few posts?

From O'Hare, how do you get to good fishing spots on Des Plaines River?

If you go to the forum links above on the main page (left side), and scroll down to the DP archives, read the old posts and all the info you are looking for should present itself. (At least most of it!). Start talking to people and ask for areas to try near you. I live in the southwest suburbs & can't offer much experiental advice on the NWest burbs. I will note that I have seen lots of info up in your area while reading old posts though.

I would just look for some spots in the nw suburbs. There are several Forest Preserves that are easy to find and have easy access to the river. I think the pike are everywhere. I have a favorite spot that produced a 33 incher recently. I went to try it today but it is flooded and dark brown. I will have to wait a while to fish it again.

Just follow the trail of de-icing liquid that they spray on the planes...it eventually runs into the DesPlaines too...hehe
