Any of you experienced Great Lakes guys out there willing to take a rookie out for a day (or even a morning) of coho fishing to show me how to set dipseys, snubbers, etc? Im basically a walleye guy that can run planer boards but want to learn how to do the dipsey and downrigger thing. I'd pay gas and grub, heck, even use my own boat. I just need someone experienced to show the way. Any takers? Thanks! Brian

I am not the expert on the boat setup yet. But i know if you stopped by the Salmon Stop on Belvidere alias RT 120 Waukegan they would help you out. Try and catch Augie and I am sure he would help you with the setups. Just trying to help. There are some guys that are very good out on the board. Try asking them some general questions like the dipsey setup your looking for. I have caught thousands of Salmon - Trout but most have been from shore. Good Luck and Good Fishing. Finatic

19 Hi Brian, There is an excellent fishing video out by Chip Porter that will show you everything you need to know about rigging up for salmon trolling. I know that the Salmon Connection in Winthrop Harbor had the videos for about 20 or 25 dollars. Ive been on the lake many years and every spring I watch the tape to jog my memory. This tape is loaded with alot of info,and everytime you watch it, you see something else you didnt notice at first . Get the tape, its worth every dime.Call Mike and Ellen at the Salmon Connection and see if they have it. Waukegan Wally good luck their hitting now!!

21Wally, thanks, I will try to find that video. I will be going to Winthrop this Saturday to see and talk to some guys. Hopefully I'll find someone willing to share like you guys on this board. Thanks again.
