I've been using the standard monofilament line for trolling, but now with all the new lines out there these day's, I'm wondering if there is a better choice. Would I be better off with a fluorocarbon or a braided line?

I still use mono for trolling eye's; the reason, precision trolling book's scale for trolling baits goes with 10lb mono and its just easyier than trying to figure other line's diameter, this way I know what depth my baits are running.

plus with mono you want a little stretch rather than yanking the baits away from the fish.

I would agree with everyone here and say mono unless you want to get some more depth out of your lures. If you need the lures to reach maximum depth go with a braid.
