I am leaving for southern Illinois on 4/16 in search of LMB. What lake would be the best one to start at? Any reports?

Of those lakes mentioned if I were going to fish just one of them in mid April it would be Lake Of Egypt. They have had a hard winter and cold spring down there too, so the water would be the warmest on Egypt (a power plant lake). The water is still probably high and muddy as they have had alot of rain there the last few weeks. 8:)

When we were down fishing LOE for crappie a week ago, the guy we were with said the bass on Cedar were great. Had a 5 fish stringer of 30lbs prefishing for a tournament. 7.5 kicker in there. He said when it gets muddy the fish head for the banks there. We did catch some bass at Egypt but most were 14-15 inches.
