Dead Shad??

I fished Lake Calumet last Sunday and noticed all the dead shad. Does anyone know why?
By the way, I caught 1, 18" smallie and a tube.

Shad are prolific and die in large numbers where ever there are shad. Every year they spawn gobs of fishkill stories all unfounded. It is good they do or #'s would be huge.
The numbers of dead shad are way beyond a natural die-off I believe there was raw sawage dumped into the river system when the Grand Calumet was at flood stage last week.
