I live in St. Charles and am fairly new to the duck hunting scene. I've got a 12 foot jon boat that is painted camo and is registered legally. I was thinking of taking it to do some duck hunting on the fox river by voyagers landing or possibly somewhere by st. charles. I've heard that you have to be 300 yds. from all established blinds and that you have to meet the 100yd distance requirement from houses. What other requirements are necessary and is the more remote portions of the river open to public hunting? thanks for any info, fellas....

Well I hunt the rock and kanakee. Best I know, Stay away from House's bringes, powerlines, and roads.. LIke 300 yrds. Also, city limits are out too, but I need to ask a CPO about that. If your in a S. Park section of the river, they might have allocated draw land blinds.... so leave the park area. That's about it. Read up on all the rules and regs. There will be a small booklet all about waterfowl in sept.-OCT. Or like me, email a CPO.

Good Luck - I can't wait till this season. I had the best season ever last yr. For both Waterfowl and deer archery.
