I am going to fish around Ferson creek on saturday afternoon, All i want to do is catch the first fish of the year smallmouth, walleye, crappie whatever i just need to catch something, any ideas or tips?? thanks

i think your best bet would be trying a split shot and a minnow through the mouth of the creek. maybe even a jig and twister. im sure i will see you there. i was planning on fishing the same area at the same time saturday. might be some pike hanging around hopefully too.

It sounds like Ferson creek is a pretty good spot. It is good to know that pike are in that area, what is the best bet for catching pike? Also, when the smallmouth are acitve does this spot produce some? Thanks for the tips

i very rarely fish that area, but i hear it pretty much has a mix of all the species. im sure theres plenty of smallmouth in there. for pike im going to go with large roaches under a bobber, or a spinnerbait probably.
