Went back to Horsetail to perhaps finish off this ice fishing season. Gills stacked as usual in the weeds and for a bonus I had some Crappie move in. I had my shanty up and windows closed to sight fish for them. Visibility was good, 4 - 5 feet. Crappie were mostly 1 - 3 feet under the ice and very finicky. I took me a while to get their habits down - you had to watch them take in the minnow and then give them about 5 seconds before setting the hook. Even them i still missed some as they would just swim with the minnow without swallowing it. Wait too long and they would spit it out. Ended up catching 9 of them, losing another 3 at the hole. Lost the biggest one, which was no giant, perhaps 9''. Most were 7'', a few smaller and a couple bigger.

Ice was 6 - 7''.
