I live in the Northwest suburbs (Des Plaines) and am trying to figure out where i can get live leaches. I have tried anglers international in palatine and some miscellaneous sports stores with no luck. Any feedback where i can get them would be appreciated.

When I had my boat and went fishing more often I ordered my leechs from www.vadosbait.com I would order a lb of a couple of different sizes. I would store the in the frig. for a couple of months without a problem. Just change the water once or twice a week. No need to feed them.

I called John last week and he said it would be a few weeks before they were available because of the cold weather up North. I am looking to get a bulk order soon myself.

It's still too cold to use leeches.
When the water is this cold, they tend to
curl up in a ball around the hook.
Try waiting to use them until June.

I use them when the water temp gets above 50 with good success. The only downside of using leeches in late April and early May is the size availability. True jumbos don't start being sold until a little later in the season and this year it is going to be the latest in quite a few years
