Midge Lake is off hwy 2 just north of Walker.
Follow the dirt road to the public launch.
Just to the left of the launch there is a field of lily pads that I use to wade and catch lots of largemouth in the 1 to 3 lb
range. I'd say it's about a forty minute drive
from Walker.

In July you can catch largemouth right on Leech in the top of Sucker Bay on the Northwest side by the bullrushes. You can catch Smallies in the top of Steamboat Bay. You don't even have to leave the lake. Traditionally July/August is tough Walleye fishing on Leech. Your best chance for eyes will be at night during a full moon. Sand Point is good and also the area called the Annex reef on the big lake. You should catch lots of Northern and Perch during the day but you might have to troll if it's calm. Good Luck. I leave for Leech in 4 weeks. Yippee!!! :)13
