Montrose

smelt season is apon us and the construction guys are already trying to play cops. They told some guys to move off the wall and I went to the spot and stayed. One guy tried to get me to move and I told him to get lost. I informed him that he was on park district property and that I was fishing and within my legal rights to be there. I was in an area that wasn't fenced off but they wanted to put some stuff there.
Anyways I will be there the Saturday after opening and will be setting up camp and not moving. The smelt do still come in thou not like they used to but I have been there when they make strong runs and you can get a 3/4 bucket full in a few hours.
By the way, fishing was slow and only had one taker and missed it.
