Went out hunting for walleyes yesterday from Wis. to Oregon dam. First went up to Beloit dam for the first time, water was coming down too fast, there was one boat right below the dam. Then I headed back to Rockford to Fordam dam and caught nothing but a drum. After this I went to Kent creek, nothing. Then down to Oregon dam, many boats and shore fishermen, no fish for anyone. Came back to Rockford and tried Kent creek at dark again, nothing. Going icing today, walleyes will be coming very soon, just had to get used to my walleye rod again in these 60* degree temps.

Hey I get home in a week for spring break, will anything be biting or will it be too cold? And if anything's biting this early on, what baits/lures do you guys recommend?

Btc,
I don't get fancy on the Rock, especially not having a boat, the best all around rig is the simple and imo, the most effective, inexpensive rig for fishing the rock. The rig is a simple split shot 12-24 inches above a light wire aberdeen or gamakatsu glow hook. However, when fish are active I'll through small jerkbaits or jig and grubs, three-ways are good too, oh yeah, floaters are good for staying out of snags, I use magnum or xl fathead minnows.
