I stopped at the Starved Rock launch on Sat. afternoon. The wind had pushed the water up into what looked to be about 4 ft. standing waves. I did see a couple boats, but it was one rough day! Too rough for me. I went into Utica & had a burger & a beer. Best I could manage in that weather.

This is a really cool site!!

:)9 what kind/size boat were you fishing in?
i remember about 4 yrs. ago the MWC had some
bad wind, most boats were on the trailers.
a few i seen that stayed out were TARGA's.
anyway, at least your home and writing about
it and to fish another day!

I was in a 16' tracker super-guide V w/a 60. I'll tell you what, some of the water we went through on the way back, a 16' foot boat had no buisness being in. Luckily I met up with two other tourney boats and we made the trip together. Somone was fishing the tourney in a 14' boat. He was one of the only boats that didn't have his boat back on the trailer by 10a.m. Made some people worry for awhile, but he got back in one peice too.
