Got out twice today - once about ten AM and again about 5:15 this afternoon. Got eight smallies altogether - all on minnows - in about 3 hours total. Smallest was about 13" and the biggest was a beauty at 17"+. Didn't have my scale along, but the big one was heavy! Didn't notice any eggs. What a difference a week can make! Last week the weather was cold & lousy, and now the smallies are back to their old patterns! Headed to Dale Hollow next week for the annual "customer fishing trip." If I average a smallmouth about every half hour at Dale Hollow, I'll be in hog heaven. There are some monsters in that lake! I understand that the top three registered smallies in the world have come out of there. Had a huge one break me off last year after five dives under the boat with my new Terminator. Heavier line this year!
