Took a few minutes at lunch to check out the conditions and they were not good- muddy and flooded. The dam at Willow road, which is the spot to hit when the water is high, is not accessible until May due to construction. Once the water recedes and warms up a bit, the crappie should wake up.

The water is even higher than before. It's within a foot of the spillway at the Willow St. dam. Some heavy rains later this week will put her over the top. Right now it's about 3-4 feet over the banks. Bring your canoe or boat if you want to fish there.

Certain areas are now accessible form the bank. Caught some gills, yellow bass, and a small LM during lunch on 4/24. Unfortunately there has been some winterkill here as there were gizzard shad and a couple of decent sized (2-3lb) bass floating.

ouch!

I took the yak out for a couple hours on Sunday early to get my sacrificial skunk out of the way and saw a white bass bellyup. I paddled over and righted him with my paddle and he swam off!
