an hour and a half of fishing 6 smallies. 5 on green punkin helgie w/very light jighead dragged accross the rocks. 1 on a jig and minnow under a bobber very shallow. all fish caught under 2 feet of water. 1 female full owith eggs. all fish released. 1 small bluegill on waxie. hits coming harder than a few days ago.

We noticed the same thing yesterday....definately hitting harder.

The other encouraging thing is the river level seems to be dropping pretty rapidly. Some of the good high water spots that were a little too high should be just right soon. Never know, if we don't get too much rain in the near future she may be wadeable sooner rather than later....I for one can't wait!

i was shore fishing up and down the east side of the river in st charles. and yes the river has dropped some but is still high and fast
