Are there any lakes in the Chicagoland area that allow wade fishing and or float tubes/belly boats? I would like to do some fishing closer to home, but the regulations seem so restrictive I wonder if it's worth trying. Tnanks for any info you may be able to give.

Only place I know of for belly boats is Mazonia.

I have waded in Busse Woods, and have seen others wading many times. I have had no problems from authorities.
Belly boats or any kind of inflatable boat are not permitted.

The backwaters of the Kankakee River provide fine PWC fishing. Give it a try!

The one thing I know is that all of the Dupage Co. Forest Preserves do not allow wading. I got a warning ticket, based on the fact that I was in the water therefore the officer considered that swimming. And, all of the DCFP lakes have a no swimming regulation. I was wearing chest waders so I don't think that I was swimming, it's pretty hard to swim in waders. Just a quick warning. Jeff Wolfe
