Here's a little "trick" I learned a long time ago, These fish are fed pellet food all their lives, every day the truck pulls up & sprays the pellets into the water and the fish learn that small splashes on the surface are the dinner bell ringing SO...pick up a couple hands full of small gravel & toss it into the water! these DUMBO Trout think it's dinner time & will come looking for food, if your bait is there when they show up you'll get bit, this even works if the fish are in a negative feed mood, it's like a Pavlovian response, they think it's feeding time & it will trigger their appetite! Give it a try...it really works, particularly if they have just been stocked & haven't found alternative food sources!

gee Bob, 35 years ago there was a trout pond just west of batavia, we used to use PEA gravel then, golly I wonder if pea gravel would work as good as small gravel, there used to be a "pay" catfish pond on Gary ave and the pea gravel worked there to/ chuckle! great idea even if it is a new as a Model A. chow. ps, great site by the way, something like a new wife----takes getting used to. later
