The Fox Waterway Agency has received notice from the Illinois Department of Natural Resources that conditions for navigation warrant restrictions on the Fox River and thus, the FWA has declared a NO WAKE on the lower river (Zone A) as a Monday, March 17th. Per FWA Code, Chapter 5, once the IDNR has made notice that high water conditions exist and that the Tail water gauge (Zone A from Algonquin to the Stratton Lock and Dam in McHenry) has exceeded 3.0, the FWA will declare this zone to be NO WAKE. Lake gauges and the upper river are rising, however, no restrictions have been declared. All boaters are encouraged to watch out for floating debris and other high water obstructions, including ice floes!

You early boaters, be careful
