Thank you. Gave it a shot yesterday afternoon and got a whole bunch of smallies. The big one was 18 inches no tag. Followed up with a 15 and the rest were small. They didn't have a lot of fight in them. Maybe because of warm water? I don't know. Still was fun.
I have yet to fish this stretch of river near me in Plainfield, but I've heard very little. I'm sure there are decent fish to be had there as I see people launching kayaks regularly in the summer. As with any river, you'll need to focus on holes and terrain changes, current breaks, and slack water. If you can eliminate water, you're closer to finding decent fish.
That water data will serve very helpful as I have a small aluminum I'll be limited to use based on water depth near the launch. Plus it will help determine the productivity of the bite related to water level, generated current, etc.
