I am thinking of going to Montrose this weekend for Coho. What has been the hot spot for Coho the shoe or the harbor. I am going to use my rods instead of powerlines. Have people been catching them on rods. Also has lures been better over live bait? I would appreciate any feedback since it will be my first time out. Good fishing to everybody out there in cyberspace. Thanks,Ed.all

The south wall is probally best. I have been getting mostly browns with the occasional coho almost daily.
Worms or minnows down 5 to 8 ft. work well. As for lures I have caught them on krocks, cleos and roostertails. Right now they prefer the roostertail deep or a cleo (chartrouse and silver)run shallow when sunny and deep when cloudy. The further down the wall (east) you get the better.
Good luck and maybe I will see you out there as I will be there all day tomorrow brown and coho fishing and all night smelting.
