Windy City Carp League Sponsored by Wacker Baits.
2008
Tournament Format

The league is going to be comprised of 9 individual events or matches that will held during the summer of 2008. This tournament is to determine the best windy city carp fisher. There will be 9 different venues for this years championship. Each of the 8 preliminary matches are to be 4 hours. Anglers are invited to sign-up via the internet(www.carpanglersgroup.com and www.chicagolandfishing.com) to participate in as many matches as they choose. Each of the first 8 matches will be FREE of charge. The 9th match will be the championship round and must qualify to fish. To qualify for the final match, an angler MUST fish at least 4 of the 8 posted matches. The top 20 posted combined weights will be the 20 anglers invited to fish the championship. Each angler that fishes one of the events will post a weight of caught carp for that event. Even if the angler fails to catch a carp, they will get credit for showing-up and fishing. The 4 highest weights will be combined to give that anglers entry weight for the finals. So if a fisher catches 10lbs.,20lbs.,30lbs., and 0lbs. for 4 matches, gives them a total of 60lbs. as their entry weight for the finals. If an angler chooses to fish more than 4 events to improve their total weight, they are welcome to do so. If that fisher chooses to fish a 5th match and catches 40lbs. of carp. The new higher weight will replace the lowest of the others for a new total of 100lbs. as a new entry weight. The 9th and final match will an 8 hour event. Entry fee will be posted later. The HIGHEST TOTAL WEIGHT WILL DRAW FIRST ON CHAMPIONSHIP DAY. The 2nd highest will draw 2nd and so on.... If a qualifying person is unable to fish the final day, their spot will go to the next person on the qualified list. The fisher with greatest weight on the final day will crowned WINDY CITY CARP LEAGUE CHAMPION 2008.

Hello fellow carpers, Tracy here. Spoke with Mr. Paul Pazella at Wacker Baits and he agreed to sponsor the league. He will be supplying goodie bags for all the fishers who make the finals. He also has generously donated a carp rod and reel to be raffled on championship day. Raffle is free to all qualifiers. Entry fee the final day is going to be $50. 1st Place will be $400, 2nd Place $250 and 3rd $150. Providing we have a full field of 20 fishers. I also modified the rules and regulations to make it a pinch easier. NO keepnets. We will weigh as we go with a tote board at the weigh station to keep fishers up to date. Anyone may net. Couple of venues it's a little tough to net a fish by oneself, so rather than having different rules for different venues, anyone may net. Unless something big happens between now and the start, This should be the game plan. Believe it or not, I actually read all that stuff I wrote and fixed it. It makes sense to me now. hopefully the rest of you will also. Keep the suggestions coming, they'll only make it better. later ;) :)2

 I found out over the weekend that 2 of the dats conflict with other events. I will be posting a change in the calendar this evening. only 3 weeks til' we start. later
the final match is in my favorite carp spot there is monsters there cought them up to 30 poiunds here
Hello fellow carpers, Tracy here. I've decided to make a venue change. I've fished the second stop of the league, Lake Volkenning, 3 times in the last two weeks with very poor results. The lake has been over run by Bullheads. This past sunday was my best of the 3 and still only caught 4 carp in 4 hours of fishing. The size were only 1.5lbs. per. That is not enough for what I was hoping. So the second stop has been changed to the Chicago River North Channel behind Northside Prep Highschool. Hope this doesn't mess up to many people. Good thing is that we don't have to travel to Schaumburg now. later
Hello fellow carpers, Tracy here. 2 dates were in conflict with a couple of other events. July 19 has been changed to July 20 because of the IBA 2man tournament in Centreville, MI. and a CAG fish-in at Montrose Harbor on May 17 has been changed to May 18. Let me know if there are any other conflicts. later
Hello Tracy

I went to the Lincon Park Lagoon Rowing Canal today, I landed 8 carps plus the 18.3 lb and the 23.4 lb.
If we get lucky June 7th some might get close to that 100 lb bag :)34
