I also put this in the Help Topic below , but , thought it would get seen more here .

I have a ? about the requirements to own / hunt with a MuzzleLoader .

#1 : Is an FOID required to purchase / own a ML?
#2 : Is an FOID required to hunt with a ML.
#3 : Is an FOID required to purchase powder / bullets for a ML.

These ?'s were asked to me about ML Hunting and I could not give him a 100% answer .

I own / hunt / purchase stuff for my ML . BUT I also have an FOID , so I just go and do it .

I'll poll the audiance on this one .

I don't think they are considered a "firearm" in Wisconsin, but are considered one in good ol' Illinois. I know you need a FOID to hunt and buy the gun/powder in Illinois, I don't think you need one to buy sabots/bullets.

In the Peoples Republik of Illinois, anything that goes bang, you must have a FOID to purchase or posess. Be a good comrade and get a FOID card. That way they know who to go to when they outlaw firearms...........Just my two pennies... :-?

True dat, but if you cross the border to Indiana nothing is required to purchase a muzzleloader or powder/bullets except a valid ID.
