I am curiuous how many sports men would be interested in a radio staion that would provide 24 hours of outdoor news and reports; If you think this is a good idea or not please post rebuttle.... :p :p :p :p

the problem I have with outdoor shows on the radio, is the signal is never strong enough. If I'm headed south ,I loose the station around Morris. The other way I loose it by the state line.
What I realy need is someone to print a time, and freq. so I could follow them in the car. I find a show on Sat. or Sun. morning, and 2mos. later its moved or taken of the air.

Key note: the suggestion was a radio STATION

If it could be made profitable, a 24-hour outdoor station would be embraced by many. Much like sports/news stations, they could run updates/top stories every 1/2 hour or hour and then have regular shows. It would be cool.

Radio

This is something that should be brought into serious consideration because I cannot get up to date locations on big schools of fish when they are hitting hard when word is out the fish are gone to a new locations and the possibilities are endless; weather patterns, tips of theday and so much more . And this will be good for the hunters as well, for instance sightings of trophy bucks would only bring more hunters to their stands. I will be updating with results on this issue and at the minimum A new show will be on the radio for at least one Hour EVERY day of the week SUPPORT YOUR SPORT :)2 :)2 :)2 More responses and insight needed :)6 :)6

A 24/7 totaly outdoors station would be an extremely hard sell in this market. This area is brutaly competitive and the bottom line is advertising dollars by ratings. I think thats why you can hardly find any major outlet carrying more than a couple of hours of programing a week. And thats usually just in the summer. It wouldn't be able to support its self without the tie in to another type of format like espn sports radio or the score. it seems that even WGN is bailing out on the outdoorsmen and women of this area. , I rember being on the way fishin somehere, listening to Bill Cullerton, talking to real guys like the late John Husar, irreplaceable stuff :p

How about a new show premiering on a high-powered AM station that would be heard in a wide broadcast pattern emanating from the Chicago area. The show would be aired live every Saturday morning from 7 to 8 a.m.
If something like this happens, what would you like to hear as far as content and format? Any suggestions? Let me know.
More info to follow.
Thanks

I would have to be in the car (about the only place I listen to the radio) between 7 and 8am on a Saturday, remember the show was on, and remember what station to tune in. Not a very likely scenario. Whatever the specific content, if it concerned fishing I would probably usually regret missing it. If I'm typical, I'm afraid the show wouldn't stand a chance. Too bad.
